I was so excited when Cathie Carday asked me to do some brand photography for her business BKD Performers.
Our daughters were in one of her first ballet classes many moons ago and I have watched as the business has blossomed.
Our girls are now enjoying Acro with Miss Jodie and are loving being a part of the BKD family because that's what this performing arts school is, a family.
After a week of skipping from one class to another, I witnessed this family love first hand. From boogie with toddlers to teenagers gracefully performing; musical theatre stars singing their hearts out and street funk moves with attitude to more than impressive acrobatic bending and the over 55's enjoying the benefits of ballet, it is impressive to see what Cathie has built with all the love and passion she has for dance.
"One day I had finished my 'Silver Swans' ballet in St Johns and I drove past the café in the village and the entire class was there sharing a coffee together..." Cathie told me. Not only does her class teach ballet but it also has create a support system and community for those who need it and that is something special.
The range of classes available tick many boxes for children and adults to enjoy the fun and joy of dance and performing, and it really was a pleasure to have a sneak inside view.
